[India, June 7, 2025] – HANS, a leading player in the food safety service industry, is proud to announce the launch of its new division, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Awareness Institute) and Eat Right Certification Programs on the eve of World Food Safety Day. This division is inspired by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and aims to support the government's objectives as envisioned in the Preamble of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

The HANS FSSAI division will focus on areas where the government-regulated FSSAI and State Food and Drug Administrations (FDAs) may face limitations in reaching the grassroots level. Specifically, HANS FSSAI will target the bottom of the pyramid, where the majority of consumers are served food, to bring about meaningful reforms and improvements in food safety and standards.

Key Differences:

While the Government's FSSAI focuses on examining and evaluating Food Business Operators' (FBOs) hygienic food handling practices, HANS FSSAI will take a more comprehensive approach. HANS FSSAI will provide training, awareness, and grooming to FBOs, helping them improve their food safety and quality management systems.

As the Accrediting Agency for these certifications, HANS FSSAI will ensure that food establishments and institutions meet the required standards for food safetyhygiene, and nutrition. These programs will include:

  • Eat Right School: A program designed to create awareness about food safetynutrition, and hygiene among school children and through them among the community at large.
